Life Beyond School Can Be Overwhelming

We Make It Navigable

Transitioning from school to adulthood is a critical stage. Families often wonder:

  • Will my son/daughter be okay?

  • Will they find meaningful work?

  • Where do we start?

Many young adults with additional learning needs are capable and eager yet they lack the right support. At Can Do Training, we provide that support, patiently, consistently, and with integrity.

Why Can Do Training?

We focus on the skills that truly matter:

  • Communication and social confidence

  • Workplace readiness, routines, and expectations

  • Job interview preparation

  • Teamwork and customer service

  • Time management and goal setting

  • Digital skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email communication

Our signature Get That Job Program integrates soft skills and digital readiness, giving students the confidence and competence to step into employment and independence.

With professional qualifications and over 27 years of experience in vocational education, business, management, career development and personal lived experience supporting family members with additional learning needs, we bring knowledge, professionalism and heart to every session for each student.

    P., Support Worker

  • These classes at Can Do Training are extremely beneficial for us as Axxxxxxxx is opening up like anything in speech. His expressive speech is improving vastly . He basically loves people. He enjoyed the tower making in the group. He loves close proximity with people.

  • Thank You Can Do Training

How encouraging to know someone has similar behaviour as Gxxxxx has changed positively.

Thanks very much for this learning opportunity in a safe environment for Gxxxxx.

For the past few years our family  was living in dark and hopeless with Gxxxxx’s absconding behaviour, now G has changed so much and we are starting to see hopes in hxx🙏

    Feedback from a parent

  • Feedback from a visiting Occupational Therapist

"The environment is intentionally structured to empower each young person’s capacity, ensuring that learning is both accessible and uplifting. What stood out most is the thoughtful balance between bridging mainstream educational opportunities while still tailoring the content to meet the diverse needs of young people with disabilities.

It was also encouraging to observe support workers actively participating alongside the students—doing the same activities, modelling engagement, and fostering a sense of inclusion and shared experience. This approach not only strengthened rapport but reinforced the message that learning is a collective journey.

Overall, it was a powerful reminder that we all have capacity, and with the right support, environment, and encouragement, young people with disabilities can thrive, learn, and participate meaningfully in their communities".
